Magnetic susceptibility measuring deviceMagnetic Property Measurement System
Overview
MPMS is a versatile magnetic property measurement device that combines a SQUID (quantum interference magnetometer) and a superconducting magnet. Magnetization (magnetic susceptibility), magnetic hysteresis characteristics, and their temperature changes can be measured with extremely high sensitivity by using SQUID. The applied magnetic field can be up to ±50 kOe by using a superconducting magnet. The greatest feature of this device is that it can stably operate the SQUID and measure weak magnetization even in this large magnetic field of 50 kOe. The temperature of the sample can be changed in the range of 1.9 K to 400 K by helium gas. If an optional high-temperature oven is installed, heating measurements in a helium gas atmosphere are possible in the range of 300 K to 800 K. By combining RSO (vibration sample type) measurement, which improves the measurement speed, and sweep measurement, which continuously changes the temperature, it is possible to measure stably at a speed of about 1 K/min. In addition, since the evaporated helium gas is automatically liquefied, it can be operated continuously for up to two years without replenishing liquid helium, greatly improving usage efficiency.
