Magnetic Property Measurement System
OutlineOutline
The MPMS is an all-purpose system for measurement of the magnetic properties of the materials, which is an essential insturment for material sciences, inorganic chemistry, environmental sciences and other sciences. The magnetic responses with respect to the applied magnetic field and their temperature dependence can be measured with a high sensitivity of 1e-7 emu by a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) sensor. The maximum field is 5T (50 kOe) and the range of the temperature is between 1.9 and 400K with stable measurement ofthe responses. The cryocooler system of the MPMS in OUS-RIC avoids an excessive vaporization of the liquid helium in the dewar which achieves stably high-sensitivity measurements with high-field and wide-temperature range.
