Raman Microscope
OutlineOutline
Raman spectroscopy is a vibrational spectroscopy method that is widely applied along with infrared spectroscopy, and is widely used as a means for analyzing the local structure of crystals and molecules. Both are often used together to give complementary information, but Raman spectroscopy does not pose a problem with water, which is a hindrance in infrared spectroscopy, and enables spatial division measurement in the micrometer range. It is especially useful for in vitro measurements and non-destructive analysis of heterogeneous samples such as rock. Since spectra can be measured without shaping the sample, Raman spectroscopy should be prioritized for analysis of unknown samples. With this device, optical adjustment such as wavelength calibration is automated, and even inexperienced people can easily obtain valid data.
